Back to Work - Health, Wellbeing & Recovery

Executive coaching for health

Healthy Returns is a unique five-point programme for individuals or organisations, tailored to coach professional and senior-level staff back into work following a disruption such as surgery, a diagnosis, or a change in personal circumstances.

Healthy Returns Programme

Professionals and those in senior positions need to be able to think flexibly, lead, and guide teams while working at pace and navigating conflicting pressures and priorities. After a disruption, they need to be able to hit the ground running. This leaves little time to reflect and accommodate personal needs within a professional setting.

The Healthy Returns Programme is a unique five-point programme which helps senior leaders and professionals transition and return to being their best after a disruption or during a phased return to work. This programme complements occupational health as a means of improving outcomes for both the individual and the organisation.

This coaching approach helps psychological preparation for a return to work, builds resilience, manages stress, and quickly gains momentum using a proactive vs crisis response.

Who can benefit from this?

The Healthy Returns programme can begin at any time before, during, or long after a phased return to work. It helps people at any stage of their recovery.

Examples of where this programme could help include:

After a new diagnosis, e.g. diabetes, heart disease, or cancer

Returning to work after long-term sickness such as cancer or after an episode of disruption in mental health

A change in self-perception following major surgery, e.g. breast cancer, or stoma formation

A change in personal circumstances such as bereavement or becoming a carer

Executive coaching for health has a big impact on the health of leaders and, therefore, on leadership.

Why is this programme unique?

The Healthy Returns programme is delivered by an Independent Consultant Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council, a member of the Royal College of Nursing, an associate with The Society of Occupational Medicine, and a Fellow with the RSA, specialising in non-pharmacological approaches to symptom management, incorporating executive coaching and health promotion techniques. The coaching industry can have variable training, regulation, and accountability. What makes this programme unique is the experience behind its compassionate and ethical delivery.

The approach builds on 30 years in nursing, ten of which were in the field of oncology and palliative care previously within the NHS, making this unique expertise highly transferable to individuals and organisations looking to get back into the saddle after a serious disruption.
