Health in Nature
A recent review has documented the increasing body of evidence in support of nature-based interventions as effective tools to improve mental, physical, and cognitive health outcomes, and highlighted key
factors that improve engagement with the natural world. Whilst the evidence-base continues to grow, more and more people are seeing the benefits that even just a short walk, or 20 minutes outdoors can bring - a real "breath of fresh air".
Julia's approach to individuals or groups is tailored to their needs and usually involves:
- Coaching approaches are solutions-based and aim to foster a sense of autonomy in support of informed decision-making about health.
- Motivational questioning techniques can help to explore one's relationship with health.
- Mindfulness techniques can help to make us feel more grounded and present and create opportunities to self-regulate emotions.
- Activity is known to improve health. Julia works in a fully accessible outdoor space which naturally will include gentle walking or movement. On rainy or cold days, there is shelter and warmth!
- Connection to both the natural environment (even in urban settings) can help individuals or groups feel connected to seasons and cycles of life.
